Yesterday, I had the opportunity to gather with close to 30 representatives from our founding and endorsing partner organizations, to hear their ideas on how to move the Vision of a Safe Saskatchewan forward. It was gratifying to see such a diverse group of people, all injury prevention advocates from different parts of the province and the country, for that matter, gathering in one room, demonstrating their passion for safety and willing to help demonstrate our mission of working together to eliminate unintentional injuries in our province. To me, this gathering represented another milestone on the path to ending our provincial injury epidemic.
Up until this time, I was struggling with overcoming the challenge of developing and/or extending our partnerships, especially with our endorsing partners. Yesterday, we simply asked them how they saw us working together to advance injury prevention in the province and they offered an array of very good ideas for us to consider. And consider these ideas and thoughts of theirs we will as it is they- the front line experts in health and safety- who know best the injury prevention challenges we are faced with at the grassroots level.
Thanks for input and feedback yesterday to all of our partners. It was invaluable and will be considered as we take injury prevention to another level in our province!
