Well I'm now settled in our new location close to Regina's downtown core. In many ways it's a bittersweet time as I'm going to miss the great people at the Saskatchewan Safety Council, a Safe Saskatchewan Founding Partner, who have provided Safe Saskatchewan in-kind office support over the last four and a half years and who have made me feel quite at home.
I extend my thanks to Executive Director Harley Toupin and the Safety Council staff for supporting Safe Saskatchewan through its growing pains. In addition, a Vision of a Safe Saskatchewan would not have been a reality without the insight of the Safety Council and its Board of Directors who, back in 2002, brought Smartrisk's Economic Burden of Unintentional Injury Report forward as an opportunity to bring our province together and to raise public awareness as to the report's contents. Thanks too, to all of our partners in injury prevention many of who, like the Safety Council, have been engaged in injury prevention work for a good many years. It is important to recognize the hard work of the past as it provides the foundation on which we will continue to work together to eliminate unintentional injuries in Saskatchewan.
Take care and please drop in to see me in our "new digs" at 320A - 2505 11th Avenue if you're ever close to Regina's downtown core.
