Yesterday, I made a presentation to a National audience, in partnership with the University of Ottawa's (U of O), CHNET-Works! (www.chnet-works.ca). CHNET-Works! is a "webinar" facility that brings people from across Canada (and other parts of the world) together, to hear presentations on various population health topics and to discuss ways of collaborating across borders, to share knowledge. Take some time to look through the CHNET-Works! website as there is a broad array of meaningful information on health promotion. Dot Bonnenfant is CHNET's Animateur and a very competent host who works with the U of O's, Population Health Improvement Research Network - - - thanks Dot, for all the good work you and the U of O do in bringing networks of people together in a very effective and efficient manner. I look forward to the next opportunity to work with you.
Yesterday's presentation was on the Safe Saskatchewan/Mosaic Potash Business Case. A copy of the PowerPoint presentation is available online here. If you are working in injury prevention or have a passion for injury prevention, I urge you to take a look through this business case that has been made very meaningful with the help of one of Safe Saskatchewan's founding partners, Mosaic Potash. If you are a business leader or a safety professional working in industry, please take a gander through the presentation as it profiles an industry opportunity to improve the quality of life for your employees, their families and the communities within which they reside, by rounding your current workplace safety efforts to include off-the-job safety. At the same time, the Business Case demonstrates savings in the magnitude of millions of dollars to an organization and a return on investment that is exponential.
Consider using any or all of the information within the presentation to bolster your safety efforts and to help position injury prevention as a priority in your personal life, in the organization you work for, in your community or in society as a whole. By working together in this regard, the lives of the people in Canada will be improved, health care system pressures will be relieved, the economic environment for business will be enhanced and millions of dollars in health and social costs will be saved. What a Country!!!! What an opportunity!!!!
